Sunday night "Californication" starts another season on Showtime along
with "Shameless" and Don Cheadle's new series "House of Lie$". Free
preview weekend and YouTube has previews too (though undoubtedly censored).

Watched "Bloodworth" last night which is now available on Netflix WI.
It's a decent movie with Kris Kristofferson, Val Kilmer, Hillary Duff,
Francis Conroy and Dwight Yokam. After what Turq's said about Kilmer
I'm wondering if he is just playing himself in the movie.

Finally caught "Cowboys and Aliens" on Bluray the other night. It was
entertaining. Universal is deceptive now in put an Extras menu on the
disc and when you select one of the "Extras" tells you to go buy the
disc if you want the extras. Others studios are just simply releasing
the movie and no extras for "rental" discs. Also only the theatrical
version was available on the disc and you got the same fucking message
if you selected "extended version." Today's news says that Warner
Brothers signed a deal with Netflix and Redbox to extend the movie
rental delay from 28 days to 56. Gotta say the WB execs are really out
of touch. I talk to so many people who stopped "buying" discs years ago
because they found they watched them once and never again. And back in
the day people had expendable income to buy discs. These days they're
lucky if they have any income. Turqs going to find more company in the
eyepatch crowd.

For a WTF movie on Netflix try "Helldriver" though it is probably too
gross for FFL'ers. Sort of a mix of real time anime, 1980s horror
(homage to "Evil Dead") and just plain over the top.

And I am into season three of the BBC version of "Being Human" which is
some of the finest series writing ever. Though it is about a ghost, a
werewolf and a vampire all sharing the same house the quality of writing
is right up there with shows like "Dexter" and "Treme". It's more about
"inhuman issues" they face and not so much about horror and includes
some comic relief. In episode three a zombie hangs out with them and
they try to help her.
