Just citing an example of vets who not only did not
take umbrage against an anti-war movement, they were
part of it.

There is also now a Veterans Against the Iraq War:

http://www.vaiw.org/vet/index.php

And an Iraq Veterans Against the War:

http://www.ivaw.net

And Veterans for Peace:

http://www.veteransforpeace.org

I think the reasons you stated for veterans opposing
antiwar movements are on target. It's just that this
opposition is by no means universal among vets.
