This threadlet reminded me of a fascinating
Maharishi-ism I remembered the other day that
speaks to the issue of whether well-meaning
teachers within the TMO can *possibly* influence
the direction it is to take in the future.

Remember the phrase from Teacher Training, "Every
question is a perfect opportunity for the answer
we have already prepared?"

Well, duh. In my experience that is *exactly*
how Maharishi dealt in the years I was around
him with anyone who asked a question he didn't
want to deal with or made a comment that he
perceived as non-supportive of one of his
grand schemes. He didn't even *listen* to the
person speaking. The person *could* have been
a rock for all the listening Maharishi was
doing. He just waited until the person was
finished and then repeated the same thing he'd
been saying all along, as if repeating it would
make the question and the questioner go away.

Sadly, usually it did.
