Right, that's at the top of my list for things I
think Bush should be doing.  But contrary to your
claim, I did not say global warming was responsible
for Katrina.

Right, I said that.  And your point is what,
exactly?  This wasn't either of the two things
you falsely claimed I had said, nor have I denied
saying it.

<It would have been helpful if a third  of
> Louisiana's National Guard hadn't been tied down in Iraq.<

Right, a third.  You claimed I had said *all* of
them were in Iraq.

Sorry, but you're mistaken.  I said he was
responsible for not doing anything about
global warming, which is painfully obvious.
I never connected it with Katrina.

Nope, didn't say that either.  What I said was
that all the National Guard troops who were in
Iraq were unable to assist with rescue operations.
<duh>

You accused me of not checking my facts, when it's
you who didn't check yours.

OK,if you were not trying to associate Global warming with Katrina, what was your  point since we were discussing what more Bush could have done about Katrina. As for spending on Levees in New Orleans, New Orleans could have shored up their levees with their own money. They still had federal funding and if it were not enough to handle the entire cost, a responsible mayor and governor should have recognized the importance and found or raised the money on a local level to get the job done. That is negligence on a local level.< And as for your statement about all the National Guard troops were in Iraq, you made that on 8/28/05. I Have copied and pasted  it on another post. I didn't have it in it's entirety but I'm sure it exists in the archives. As for Bush's doing nothing about global warming, He does enforce the laws of the land and I do believe the United States does as much if not more to reduce pollution and green house gasses as any other developing or developed nation on the earth. Ever been to India,China or Mexico? Go there first then come tell me America isn't doing its share.
