So here are my thoughts on Ascended Masters, angels, Archangels and avatars here on earth.
When I was at the tail end of my time at MIU, a former TM teacher named Bob Fickes came to Fairfield and was teaching channeling classes and doing private readings. Feeling it might be of some value, I had a reading and most of it was over my head, being oriented in a very esoteric fashion. It was my first introduction to channeling. Through one thing and another, I decided to try channeling myself at first nothing happened then I had an experience with the Archangel Raphael the energy was unbelievably blissful, and I continued to "channel" just to feel the energy and for no other reason. After a couple friends found out I was channeling they asked me to do readings for them. At first I refused, then I gave in. One thing led to another and I felt that, the energy being what it was deep and blissful most of the time, and the information coming through seemed pretty credible on a personal level, that it was my calling to channel the Ascended Masters, angels and Archangels. I never, in 25 years of channeling made very much money at it, but I did it anyway. So after 25 years of channeling, here are my thoughts and beliefs on these matters. In terms of Energy, I have enjoyed much of the experiences I have had. Feedback from those who have come to me for readings have been mostly positive. Having done sessions for friends, I have seen that sometimes the information is strikingly accurate, and sometimes not accurate at all. A lot of time the channel will excuse this by saying that as the karmic energy or circumstances change and as we make different choices, the events that may manifest will change accordingly. I won't argue with that, it may be true. There is also the phenomenon of mixing, meaning that the mind and ego of the channel mixes some of its own beliefs into the energy of the Masters as it comes through as information and that alters the particulars of the information. On a personal note over the years I found that I still liked the experience of channeling for the energy. It was a way of experiencing a really expanded Divine Essence. And the real effect for the person or people (in the case of a group channeling) was to re-connect them more to their own Divine Self more fully through the Energy connection of what we call the Ascended Masters, angels and Archangels. This may be one of the reasons that I never made that much money because I foind over the years that people seem to be drawn to those channels that channel lots and lots of information. There are all kinds of channels. Some like myself channel a wide variety of Beings of Light Mother Mary, Kwan Yin, Jesus, Buddha, the various Archangels like Michael and Raphael, various angels, Krishna and Shiva and so on. Some seem to specialize and just channel one or two Beings like a channel for the Archangel Michael or Maitreya yep there have been those who channel Maitreya. When I started channeling there weren't that many people who were doing it, but the number of channels has exploded there are all kinds of channels these days and most of them channel lots and lots of information. Some of it seems trivial like the channels to tell us about the yetis and such things as that. Some are all about the Galactics (meaning the extra-terrestrials) who are going to come down and save us all with their technology and greater knowledge. Some are the blessings and knowledge coming from the Archangels. Some of the info has to do with what we should be doing now, how to open the chakras, or what kind of energy is coming up collectively to be healed. A lot of it has been all about the past what all happened in Atlantis, what all happened in Lemuria or other ancient civilizations that have left no record that archaeologists have found. And a lot of the info is all about what all is going to happen when the earth goes into "ascension". A heck of a lot of it is oriented around what is gonna happen. I am not saying any of this is bad, and I suppose that if people like it, if it makes them feel good then what's the harm? You might spend the same amount of time watching football or sitting around drinking liquor with your friends the channeled stuff doesn't seem any more harmful than that. But after 25 years it seems like a lot of people are waiting for the Masters to come do us some good. As I said, a lot of the info revolves around what is gone happen and all the great things that are coming. Nothing wrong with being positive and if people like to channel or get readings, participate in seminars or workshops or group healings because they make them feel good and maybe even help them make some progress in life, all the better. But I must say as a channel myself, I have gotten tired of listening to how great things are gonna be when some fabulous alignment of the planets happens or when some real shore nuff good esoteric thing that is happening in the Cosmos gets here on earth and so on. If the Masters really exist, I would like to know why they haven't been or greater assistance to us here on earth? According to much of what is being channeled we are all supposedly Masters in our own right and have taken incarnation at this time to help clear the earth of all the crappy karma it is currently dealing with through dealing with our own ancestral karma of the body, thereby purifying the family karma and by extension the ethnic and national karma of our families. Some say that since humans created the karma we have to deal with it ourselves which I can understand but it seems to me the Masters are a little too hands off. How many of us who are parents in this lifetime would stand by and watch our kids screw up when we could be of material assistance to help them out? Many would say that since it is our karma, the Masters cannot interfere, but is that credible? If anyone who is a parent sees their children suffering, do you stand by and allow them to take care of themselves? If your child falls down and scrapes their leg and cries do you just stand there and tell them "You know where the Neosporin and the band aids are." No, any decent parent goes and assists the child. The same holds true when a parent sees a child who is going to hurt themselves in some way yeah I know the idea that experience teaches best and all that, but how does this hands off experience square with the idea that we have a loving Mother/Father God who along with their manifestations (the angels, Archangels and Ascended Masters) take care of us and help us all we need? In fact it does not square. If God were really there with this grand divine plan to enlighten the earth, it seems to me it would be more helpful, more intelligently designed. We have been giving the Ascended Masters a free pass in a number of ways, the first being the idea that they are so enlightened, so beyond human experience that they are not really cognizant of what we experience here on earth, This only makes sense if we believe that we are an experiment the Masters check on from time to time but are totally aloof from in their hearts. (Which I don't believe) Knowing the Energy of angels as I do I find this to be complete baloney. If it were true, channeling would not exist on the earth. What good would it do to channel the energy of a Being that could not comprehend the things we experience here on earth? In fact the Masters if they do exist understand completely what we experience here how else can they give us the advice that comes through channels? We also give them a free pass by believing that the experiences we have are karma, our creation and we have to work it out for ourselves still doesn't cut it as far as I am concerned due to the belief that the Father, can and should give greater assistance. Why have they not come to earth in a tangible form to help alleviate the suffering and give clearer guidance to us instead of allowing us to flounder half or three quarters blind all the time? The real question becomes do the Ascended Masters, Archangels and angels have an existence that is not dependent on the collective awareness of humanity? I believe that Buddha, Jesus, Zoroaster, Confucius and Lao Tzu were actual historical personages who lived on earth and who may have had such a connection to the Universal Mind such that they appeared as Masters to everyone else. If we look back in history the very first mention of Divine Beings is from Zoroaster who believed that the Principle of God manifests as 7 Divine beings known as Amesha Spentas who were in charge of certain aspects of God's creation although some scholars believe that Zoroaster understood them to be aspects of God rather than as separate beings created by God. Many scholars believe that belief in the Amesa Spentas is the origin of the Hebrew belief in Archangels which they acquired during their time of captivity in Babylon. Thus the 7 archangels began as aspects of God in Zoroastrianism and became translated by the Jews (particularly during the Rabinnic period), Muslims and later Christians as Archangels. Certain Christian writers especially one known as Pseudo-Dionysus in the 5th Century made a pretty detailed list of the hierarchies of angels and Archangels. The Ascended Masters other than Confuscious, Lao Tsu, Buddha and Jesus (and some of the Gods and Goddesses from history that are now considered Masters) were not known until the late 1890's when Helena Balvatsky and Alice Bailey and others began to write and speak about them. It began with Blavatsky's assertion that her teachers had been flesh and blood humans who were Mahatmas or great souls, one of whom she said was El Morya. Annie Besant, C.W. Leadbeater and others of the Theosophical Society expanded the idea of and list of Masters. This seminal work was expanded further by Edna and Guy Ballard, Baird Spaulding and later Elizabeth and Mark Prophet and others in the 1930's and 40's, usually with a monetary and egoic motive behind the teachings. My question is: if these Masters had and have an existence independent of the human race and human consciousness and have been associated with mankind since the beginning of earth, where were they till the 1860's which is when Blavatsky claimed they were teaching her? If they have been around all this time why do we have no records of them from any ancient or relatively recent civilizations and please don't tell me it is because they chose to hide their existence till the Theosophical society was formed. I cannot deny the Energy I feel when I channel the Masters and Archangels particularly Buddha. Buddha for me is the essence of the Unmanifest made manifest, his Energy is the Essence of Pure Awareness. I can believe that the Ascended Masters and Archangels are somehow tied to the collective consciousness of humanity, but I cannot answer the question of whether or not they existed before humans did. I am willing to concede that since the Masters and Archangels are expressions of certain Archetypal energy, that energy would possibly have existed before humanity ever existed. The next question is how should humans feel about and interact with the energies of these Beings. I believe the most empowering way of interaction is to think of them as aspects of our own Infinite Being, and channeling is a means of accessing various aspects of our Infinite Being. I admit I like the perspective of Richard Bartlett who teaches Matrix Energetics. He says he has unseen guides and Masters who give him guidance and information and he listens to them and acts on what they tell him at the same time he says that he hallucinates them. That is his term for the idea that we all are aspects of consciousness, and that we hallucinate or self create these aspects of our own Divine Being in order to have a way and a reason to access our power and believe in what we are dong and experiencing when it is an experience beyond what we are taught in school and church. I like his belief. So I don't know the answer to any of this stuff. I am just trying to live in this body and make some sense of the world every day. As to the Ascended Masters and the idea that some are slipping around here doing all sorts of great things in a hidden or unseen way, what the hell for? People can say anything, but for me I only know that when I hear see or read about some great thing that is gonna take place and how the Masters are doing all this great stuff, I am willing to believe it, willing mind you, and I will believe it when I see it, but I am not holding my breath.
