It is interesting that you post this - this was the very sort of thing that
Maharishi would say that inspired me and my friends, kept us going on the path
to enlightenment - this was the thing that gave us more impetus to be regular,
and especially to go one rounding courses.

Now I see that it was one way Maharishi marshaled the troops to continue to
stay connected to him and to feed his organization money.

Now that I believe as Eckhart Tolle teaches that most meditations are another
way of doing (as opposed to just being) and that one does not need to use a
mantra to experience Being, it shows the basic advertising tenant of TM is
untrue or perhaps superfluous - that one needs a mantra, specifically the TM
mantra to transcend, or experience Being - my how times change. Knowledge may
not be different in different states of awareness, but it certainly is
perceived differently.

Give us this Day our Daily Bread.
"The whole purpose of life is to gain enlightenment. Nothing else is
significant compared to that completely natural, exalted state of
consciousness. So always strive for that. Set your life around that goal.
Don't get caught up in small things, and then it will be yours." Maharishi
Mahesh Yogi
