Good points made above. To own my own frustration I'd

I agree with akasha 108's comment above, that we engage others in a 
particular way to elicit a response in ourselves that we can learn 
from. 

I have used this as a useful learning tool as necessary, finding 
myself in dramas wholly of my own construct, to see how it feels to 
me, sometimes repeatedly, in order to gain enough awareness of the 
situation elicited, in order to resolve it, to understand why I am 
creating such a condition for myself.

The interesting part of it, is that frequently we feel that to 
engage another is 'in *their* best interest', or '*they* made me do 
it', or 'I just had to say something to *them*', or 'I enjoy *their* 
response'. Lots of emphasis on the other person's apparent need for 
this, when in fact the need is purely and entirely our own. 

Apparently both Barry and Judy see value in their engaging each 
other. The issue is not whether or not they like each other. Each 
provides a useful mirror to the other for some sort of personal pay-
off. All for the best!
