MB

Dual Channel DDR
Expands memory bandwidth to 6.4GB/s and supporting up to 4GB of memory.

999 DIMM
Makes the DDR eliminate data highway quality issues and support
increased overclocking.

HT 2000
More bandwidth, low latency, and better efficiency.

CPU

AMD Athlon 64 Processor Architecture Performance
HyperTransport™ technology can increase overall system performance by
removing I/O bottlenecks, increasing system bandwidth, and reducing
system latency. A fully integrated DDR memory controller helps speed
access to memory by offering the processor a direct connection to the
main memory. As a result, end users can enjoy quicker application
loading and extraordinary application performance.

The Industry's first true on-die dual core x86 PC processor

    * Inter-core communication at CPU speed
    * Direct access to memory controller & HyperTransport™ technology link

HyperTransport™ technology for high speed I/O communication

    * One 16-bit link at 2000MHz
    * 8 GB/s HyperTransport™ technology I/O bandwidth
    * 14.4 GB/s total delivered processor-to-system bandwidth

Large high-performance on-chip cache

    * 64KB Level 1 instruction cache per core (128KB total)
    * 64KB Level 1 data cache per core (128KB total)
    * 1MB Level 2 cache per core (2MB total)

If you have informed recommendations on a better MB, please let me know.

I think the lower memory use is due to the 2MB L2 cache. I think the
prior chip only had 512.
