Here are some nice comments about her from Shannon Dickson: Jane and I were dear friends from the time I was a little whippersnapper until I left the movement. Her family went to the Presbyterian Church that my father was a minister at in Houston Texas and she lived in my neighborhood and she and my brother were close friends in the mid 1960s. My brother, Jane and myself set up the first TM talks and initiations in the southern US in 1967 that Mrs. Olson came to. Over the next two years Mrs. Olson, Jerry and Ed Matthews made many trips to Houston as we reeled in a whole cohort of characters like Billy Clayton., Johnny Gary (who I went to junior high and high school with and introduced to TM). Russell Hebert, Louis Dyson that all became part of the ³Texas Rangers² as well as many others. My brother was living with the Olson¹s in California at the time staying in the little bungalow out back where MMY used to stay while he was in LA while Jane and I set up the first lecture in Texas running all over town and putting up posters and going on all the underground radio stations and telling everyone this was better than acid even though we hadn¹t yet even started meditation, but we sure had memorized the SRM pamphlets!. Anyway we had around 1,000 people at the first lecture for Mrs. Olson, not too long before the Beatles announced they had started. Mrs. Olson came to Houston several days early before the fist lecture and initiated Jane and I the day she arrived together in the same initiation puja at the Warwick Hotel. Teresa Olson was in our puja too and it was a fabulous moment. I was on cloud nine and felt as if I¹d transcended the universe in the middle of that first meditation. Anyway just one of a thousand fond memories of my time with good ole Jane. I¹ll pass this on to my brother as well. She and Russell Hebert never got married did they? I know Russell was/is a BC, but someone had said they were an item about 10 years ago or so. Thanks for letting us know.
--------- I hadn¹t spoken with Jane since 1977, a lifetime ago, but always had a good relationship with her. Her parents helped take care of me for a bit when I was 10 years old while my parents were rushing back from Europe and the Middle East after I got full blown polio from the oral vaccine that had just been released. My brother who was a senior in high school and our maid were staying at my house when I got sick and the Hopson¹s were very kind to help out along with other friends. I¹ll never forget how Jane¹s mom always wore those ultra-conservative 1930¹s school teacher-like heavy black lace up shoes with a very thick medium high heal. For some reason, that always stuck in my data bank. Jane was much older than us, I think close to 70 by now. ------------------------ Yahoo!
