Thank you Share - excellent post.  Midway is the recipient of much debris in 
the Pacific Garbage Patch.  

On a backpacking trip a couple of years ago to a stretch along the northern 
coast of Washington, I became outraged at the number of plastic water bottles 
littering the beach.  I filled up a large garbage sack (also plastic) within a 
short time and trucked it out; interestingly, I talked to everyone I saw (it 
was a holiday weekend so there were more people than usual) about grabbing an 
extra bottle or two on their way out, but only 2 people seemed receptive to the 
idea.  I do not walk my talk yet, in the sense that I purchase many things in 
plastic, or with plastic parts, but this is a horrifying reality.
