salyavin, here's the url which I previously forgot to post:
http://www.dailygood.org/story/478/35-scientific-concepts-that-will-help-you-understand-the-world-aimee-groth/

to both salyvain and Emily: I think my favorites, but there are so many
wonderful concepts that *constraint satisfaction* is happening (-:
I love: Positive sum games which is basically win win; and Pessimism meta
induction which says that all of our current scientific theories will be proved
wrong some day. This is based on what's happened to past theories.

Emily, if participating on FFL isn't seeking out someone who doesn't see the
world the way that I do, then I don't know what is. Now referring to your other
post about the doc on nuclear, is there an election going on? Why should I vote
at this point in time? In fact aren't I now doing what you suggest I do in this
post, that is, entertain other points of view?!

Help You Understand Life

Dear Share, which on this list would you like to present to the forum for
discussion?  What do you think of the idea of you choosing the concept from
your list and outlining your views on it and why you have them?

"Make an effort to seek out somebody who doesn't see the world the way you do,
and strike up a meaningful conversation with them. Try to listen closely - they
may help highlight blind spots in your perspectives and understanding!"
