Mars orbits the Sun every 687 days. So what happened in October of 2011?
BTW, the committee just passed the resolution 10-7 with one "present"
(abstain). Now it goes to Congress. Get on the horn to your
representatives and say "VOTE NO!"

Everyone should be aware by now that Mars is transiting Cancer at this
time. And, it is debilitated in that sign. As such, we are seeing
the anger of Mars manifesting in world events, in particular the US
involvement in the Syrian war. Obama did the rational alternative by
involving Congress in making a decision whether to attack Assad's
government or not.
If the debate for attacking continues in Congress for another month or
so, this whole event may solve itself in the end. When Mars transits
out of Cancer, the drums for war may subside.
On a personal basis, Mars just gave me an ankle sprain when I was
riding my bike in the park last Sunday. Even today, I'm still
hobbling along as I do my daily errands.
