Some of his movies including "Ron Burgundy" which was a parody on TV
anchors are pretty good and others pretty dumb. But then I am a Seth
Rogen fan because his comedy can get "out there" and last week I watched
"This is the End" which is a new breed of humor "apocalyptic comedy".
I haven't watched SNL in years. I don't know anyone who does.

I somehow missed Will Ferrell. He appeared too late in the series for
me to have ever seen him on SNL, and scrolling through the list of his
movies on IMDB, I haven't seen a one of them. The glimpses of him I've
stumbled upon online haven't impressed me. But y'know, after seeing
these commercials he did for the Dodge Durango, reprising his Ron
Burgundy role from "Anchorman," I might just download that flick and
watch it.

Judging from the Ron Burgundy of the commercials, this is neither the
most clueful nor the least chauvinistic guy on earth. The whole
routine is pretty much macho lowbrow humor. But what, I'm thinking, if
macho lowbrow humor were done *well*? And what better way to parody
the media and the world of TV newscasters than to portray the
sleaziest possible example of one onscreen?
I learn from the IMDB that the first lines of the movie, spoken in
voice-over narration, are these: "There was a time, a time before
cable. When the local anchorman reigned supreme. When people believed
everything they heard on TV. This was an age when only men were
allowed to read the news. And in San Diego, one anchorman was more man
then the rest. His name was Ron Burgundy. He was like a god walking
amongst mere mortals. He had a voice that could make a wolverine purr
and suits so fine they made Sinatra look like a hobo. In other words,
Ron Burgundy was the balls."
That's funny. Worth a download fersure.
