Judy, thank you! Yes, this was fun. Of the two Fischer-Dieskau pieces, I prefer the second, although the first is fascinating with respect to the number of modulations - gives the ear a little jolt and says "pay attention." (I had to look that word up to know what to listen for. Smile.) I didn't care for the accompaniment much either in the first piece; didn't bring out the song properly, but the second accompaniment was wonderful. IMO, German, as a language, is best sung.
I am thrilled you included more piano and will listen to them all today (it will help prepare me for a visit tonight with *my* father, who could probably have learned a lot from your father.) Em
