When I arrived at my nephew's yesterday afternoon he was trying to figure out Windows 8 on a notebook they had gotten for my sister. He was particularly trying to figure out how to shut the notebook down since. I was no help since it was the first time I had even bothered to look at a Windows 8 machine.

I don't know why Microsoft chooses to make such dramatic differences in their interfaces between OS's but I can see why people don't like it. My friends who visited last week used to work there and tell me this is the result of big egos battles to see who gets to pee on the latest OS.
