The night is tied to Lynch's new performance arts initiative called DLF Live and will culminate with a Ringo tribute concert featuring Joe Walsh, Ben Folds, Brendan Benson, Ben Harper, Bettye LaVette and Dave Stewart. Veteran rock producer Don Was will serve as the musical director. The Dixie Chicks, Damien Rice, Jake Bugg and others will perform at the ceremony. "We want to generate the electricity of peace through music," David Lynch said in a statement. "And it’s a thrill to know that the super-creative, enthusiastic musicians of our world are with us to achieve this goal." The David Lynch Foundation began 10 years ago with an aim to provide scholarships to teach Transcendental Meditation to at-risk youth in underserved schools, veterans with post-traumatic stress (PTS), women who are survivors of domestic violence, and homeless and incarcerated individuals.
