"As to believe this" what? That the farmers showed up with rifles because they thought the pundits had killed the sheriff? Just to clarify, I was saying that my friend wasn’t kidding when she said that farmers had shown up with rifles. I doubt she was there to observe them, but she seems to know what she’s talking about. Or that Rick's friend was joking? I have a sneaking suspicion Barry has lost the thread... In all of the discussion surrounding the recent pundit riots, Rick's final comment below (highlighted in red) is by far the scariest. Anyone who *isn't* a little shocked to learn that someone could actually become so cult- and self-importance-doctrinated as to believe this is genuinely scary. I also agree with Michael that Feste's comment was magical. Right up there with Rick's recent "You can smell the Kool-Aid from here" comment. :-) _____ From: Rick Archer <rick@... <mailto:rick@...> > To: [email protected] <mailto:[email protected]> Sent: Friday, March 14, 2014 6:09 PM Subject: RE: [FairfieldLife] sheriff's press release about pundit riot From: [email protected] <mailto:[email protected]> [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Michael Jackson Sent: Friday, March 14, 2014 11:50 AM To: [email protected] <mailto:[email protected]> Subject: RE: [FairfieldLife] sheriff's press release about pundit riot I know you and I have crossed swords in the past, but that is one of the funniest things I have ever read here on FFL. -------------------------------------------- On Fri, 3/14/14, feste37 <[email protected] <mailto:[email protected]> > wrote: Subject: RE: [FairfieldLife] sheriff's press release about pundit riot To: [email protected] <mailto:[email protected]> Date: Friday, March 14, 2014, 4:37 PM Rick's friend was joking, presumably. My friend wasn’t joking. The pundit riot must rank as one of the most extraordinary events to take place here since the movement arrived in 1974. The sheriff's report could almost have come from Colonial British India: well-trained white officer remains calm amidst riot by excitable darkies. ---In [email protected] <mailto:[email protected]> , <[email protected] <mailto:[email protected]> > wrote : WHAT are you people doing, living there?! ---In [email protected] <mailto:[email protected]> , <rick@... <mailto:rick@...> > wrote : A friend’s comment on this: This is probably to calm down the farmers who had come in their pickups with rifles to avenge the death of the sheriff. They had heard thru their network that the Pundits had killed him. It is amazing to learn what kind of people surround us in these farms…wow, how fortunate they found out in time and did not shoot anyone. A wild day for sure!
