Underscores the bs hypocrisy of the Movement. If a regular TM teacher pulled a
stunt like that he would be cast into outer darkness by the TMO - barred from
future WPA's and any other courses, the TMO would be very careful to tell the
world that such a deal was NOT TM and you had to have the properly chosen
mantra and so forth. But because Brand is giving them such publicity he can
visit with the Dalai Lama, schmooze with the Hare Krishnas and get away with
it. What a bunch of disingenuous asses, what a bunch of schmoes.

Does the TMO really want Lindsay
 Lohan as a spokes
person? I watch that Russell character, you know the
hip hop dude, teaching TM on some talk show a week or
two ago. Gave everybody the mantra Ram.  Maharishi was
rolling over in his ashes. On Wednesday, April

 3. Looks like Lindsay Lohan is about to learn TM.
We find this out on a call to Oprah on the Late Show with
 David Letterman.
 David
Letterman - Dave and Lindsay Lohan Call Oprah
 Published
 on Apr 9,
 2014
 Lindsay and Dave phone
Oprah Winfrey to find out how things are going with
 Lindsay.
 1:48 – 2:00 Oprah
says, "Dave, you should be doing okay, cuz the last time I was
there we discovered that we have the same meditation
teacher, and now Lindsay’s doing meditation too.”
(She’s learning about TM, Intro-Prep, and is about to
 start.)
 Dave: Meditation
 Bob.
 Lindsay: Bob
 Oprah:
  Meditation Bob.
 Lindsay: Bob
 Dave: You know what
else, you know what else Oprah?
 Oprah: What?
 Dave: That I switched
to now that is really fantastic?
 Oprah: What?
 Dave: Scientology
 (David jokes)
 Laughter
 Lindsay (surprised,
laughs): Oh goodness gracious. Let’s go back to
 meditation.

 4. Speaking about
 Meditation
 Bob, he’s featured in
 Manhattan
 Magazine this month:
 Transcendental
 Inspiration.
 Bob says:
"Cristina Cuomo is the editor of
Manhattan magazine—a glossy magazine for the uberwealthy in New York
City. She is married to Chris Cuomo, a CNN news anchor,
and the sister-in-law to New York Governor Andrew Cuomo. Cristina started
meditating last summer in the Hamptons and absolutely
loves TM and loves the work of the David Lynch Foundation.
She asked me to write something up for the magazine and sent
a photographer. I had no idea it would be so well
 placed…"
Editor-in-Chief Cristina Cuomo writes in her
 Editor’s
 Note April 2014, quoting E.
 B. White’s 1949 book, Here is New
 York:
 “New York is the
 concentrate of art and commerce
and sport and religion and entertainment and finance,
bringing to a single compact arena the gladiator, the
evangelist, the promoter, the actor, the trader and the
merchant. It carries on its lapel the unexpungeable odor of the
long past, so that no matter where you sit in New York you
feel the vibrations of great times and tall
 deeds…”
  In this epicenter
that White outlines, all that is as true today as it was
more than six decades ago. And in this, our annual Men’s
Issue, we here at Manhattan hope to capture
 all those figures
with our own dashes of history, fanfare and, above all,
 style.
 Our modern-day
evangelist comes in the form of a quiet, self-reflective,
 inspired (and inspiring) man—Transcendental Meditation
master Bob Roth, who, in our Datebook column, writes about
the health benefits to society of the simple act of
 meditation.
 She goes on to
describe the other representatives described by White, some
 personal friends of hers. Read
