When I was getting initiations into Bonpo, one of the lamas with the
deepest knowledge of the visionary practices (he had spent a good
amount of time in dark retreat) was shown numerous cave drawings from
Lascaux, etc. He not only understood their meaning, but could tell
you where in time they had occurred. As you do the practices
associated with Unity like he was doing, it is not unusual to
encounter the collective memories of entire classes of sentient
beings--the human race being but one.
