I usually meditate before sleep, something Maharishi once told me to do (for 1/2 an hour), but when I lie down, I often play a little "game" in which I imagine that I'm surrendering to death, not just to sleep. I imagine that this is it - I'm never going to wake up. Somehow this is very profound. There's a much more complete sense of surrender to it. No fear. I also have this thing when I wake up in the middle of the night to pee. I'll get back in bed and notice a constant "buzz" in my nervous system which, I realize, is always there. I'm able to consciously relax in such a way as to stop it entirely, then I go to sleep again. ------------------------ Yahoo!
