This is the whole point, because all, I repeat, all sounds are meaningless until we apply a concept to them. There is no sound that have meaning that is not applied by someone, and there can be subtle and dramatic differences of meaning applied across and throughout cultures. Which is consistent with the original Vedic concept in the Rig Ved, since it was not thought valid to deify things. For example, Ganesh is an elephant faced god in Hinuism, but he originated from Ganapati in the Rig Ved, which signifies 'beginnings' and was also the name of a tribe of the Vedas. So different meanings are applied to the same sounds. Ganapati now means an elephant faced god to many hindus, but in the Rig Ved this was not its meaning. OffWorld ------------------------ Yahoo!
