George, you raise in interesting question. Indeed, why does Maharishi Vedic City have elections and representatives? Wouldn't a vedic community be ruled by appointees of the king? I suppose it would be illegal for an American town to have its executives appointed by a monarch. Worse, one who's only a king in consciousness -- a pretend king of an imaginary realm.
