Maybe Jack returned to his place of origin in the U.S.A. where he was born Herbert Webster Mudgett - aka H.H. Holmes. For decades English investigators have been convinced that one, or two, of the Jack Ripper murders were committed by an American surgeon visiting London. Not long after Jack the Ripper haunted the dimly lit streets of 1888 London, H.H. Holmes dispatched somewhere between 27 and 200 people during the Chicago World Fair. Go figure.
