This week I would like to talk about a very rare astrological phenomenon
that will take place in the progressed horoscope of the United States of
America. It is a phenomenon that I cover in great detail in next yearï¿∏s
Forecast Book. Depending on which chart you use for the United Statesï¿∏the
July 4, 1776 chart preferred by most people, or the July 2 chart that I
preferï¿∏the progressed Mars will turn retrograde for the first time in its
history in either November 2006 (if July 4 is correct) or November 2008 (if
July 2 is the correct date). In the study of Mundane Astrology, Mars in a
countryï¿∏s horoscope represents its military, its urge or need to engage in
combat, for defensive or offensive purposes. Now consider that Mars turns
retrograde only about every 770 days, which in progressions represents 770
years. And consider that it stays retrograde for about 70-72 days or 70-72
years. The implication is that the U.S. is about to make a complete
reversal in regard to its entire historical military _expression_. And what
would cause that? Well, obviously (to me) it has to do with this war in
Iraq. It seems to me that this war will be the last war of this kind that
the U.S. will engage in for the next 70-72 years, once the Bush regime is
out of office. There will likely be a profound reversal of how the U.S.
utilizes its military after the election of November 2008. The troops will
likely come home, for better or worseï¿∏and I say that because if the job is
not completed, much of the world will no longer depend upon the U.S. to
keep its word about protecting its allies. In response, other nations will
find it necessary to build up their own militaries over the next 70-72
years, and the U.S, will slowly (or quickly) lose its status as the lone
military super-power on the planet. Either President Bush brings this war
to a conclusion around the time his term ends, or the next president will
be Hillary Clintonï¿∏and Bush will go down as the last ï¿∏War Presidentï¿∏ of the
United States for many decades. Time is running out for this military
operation, and for the Commander in Chief (Bush) whose own progressed Mars
isï¿∏guess where?ï¿∏conjunct the U.S.A. stationary progressed Mars in
mid-Libra. When he goes, so goes Mars as we have known him, as a nation,
for the past 230 years.
