I guess you could call it like this. Why would people try to do this, establish a memorial to themsleves? Maybe I am misunderstanding it, but it's not something I have any affinity for. It just seems like ego, spiritual or otherwise.
I like the way Jiddu Krishnamurti went about this. I recently visited his birth-house. There is nothing special about it, normal people are living there, there is not even a sign that it is his birthhouse, there is only a sign 'krishnamurti study center' How unassuming.
