However, prior to perfection, there are techniques to enliven one's 
path to perfection. Asanas and pranayama before meditation, a healthy 
diet and exercise, good sleep, a life-supporting moral code, etc.

Vastu, one might assume, is yet another one of these. I'm guessing that 
he feels it to be so important because it is *automatic," unlike the 
rest, which require constant attention to maintain. Also, if there 
really IS an geometric-orientation effect on cognitive process, as many 
mainstream neuro-scientists have speculated concerning the functioning 
of the hippocampus, its conceivable that the effect is not merely 
noticeable for someone who is enlightened, but that the contrast 
between vastu and non-vastu is overwhelmingly great. Perhaps living in 
Vastu for the last decade or so has changed MMY's consciousness so much 
that he realizes he and the TMO have been operating at way less than 
100% for the past 50 years.

Or perhaps he's delusional, or maybe he just wants to leave his nephews 
billions instead of millions.

Whatever.
