In the world of political discussions, my experience is that while liberals may
use the "Shoot the messenger" tactic too, they don't use it as often as
conservatives. The reason is that the liberals in most cases actually know
enough about the ideas being discussed and the facts behind them as to have no
fear about discussing them. The conservatives, on the whole, do *not* know the
facts, and so they avoid any debate that would reveal this, preferring to
name-call and try to discredit the other person instead.
In the context I'm talking about (FFL), however, there is a *clear* pattern
that we can attribute to the TM TBs who have consistently practiced "Shoot the
messenger" on this forum for *decades*. They -- on the whole -- run this "Shoot
the messenger" routine *instead* of discussing or debating the ideas that the
messenger/critics bring up.
Over a period of years, critics such as myself, Vaj, Curtis, Salyavin, Michael,
and many others have usually been willing to focus on the ideas themselves, as
opposed to doing what the TBs do, which is to *ignore* the ideas, try to divert
the conversation away from the ideas, and focus only on ad hominem comments and
and things they think will discredit the critics. IMO, many of these TBs (or
trolls) literally have nothing to say *except* to try to play "Shoot the
messenger." A couple of them have supposedly even "left" this forum for that
other place, but are so addicted to the ad hominem that they read every post
here and come back to do a "Shoot the messenger" drive-by whenever one of the
same critics they've been trying to discredit for years says something new that
pushes their buttons again.
My point is that this behavioral trend on the part of the TM TBs is C U L T
B E H A V I O R. They didn't develop it by accident. They were *taught* to
react this way any time the dogma they've been spoon-fed by the TMO is
challenged.

Especially the religious fanatics and cultists on Fairfield Life. Some less
brainwashed person says something they don't like because it causes them to
realize that their beliefs or their spiritual teacher are kinda silly, and
rather than react to the criticisms themselves, they attack the critics
personally and try to smear them.
Fortunately, all but a couple of these religious fanatics bailed from FFL
recently. This is just a reminder to the 2 or 3 who are left that nobody is
buying your tactics.
