northeast England during the past decade. But those curious about the true
number of members in the region can easily find the results of a 2011 census,
which found only 2,418 self-identified Scientologists in England and Wales. (In
contrast, 176,632 respondents identified as Jedi Knights.) The same census also
found that in Northumbria, the number of Scientologists was 62."
It's just like the TMO still claiming that there are millions of TM
practitioners, or (even better), putting out bogus articles claiming that a
group of "10,000 Mayans" had gathered together to practice the TMSP in a
celebration of some sort. Then they stupidly published a supposed photo of the
"event," which clearly shows at most 200 to 300 people, max.
But the rest of this article SHOULD be of interest to long-time readers of FFL,
because the tactics used by Scientology to demonize and slander its critics are
essentially the same as those used here for years by TMers unhappy that people
like myself, Vaj, Curtis, Sal, Michael, and others are speaking out about
improprieties in the TM movement, *based on our own experiences with it*. These
cultists *know* that they can't dispute us on the facts (we, after all, were
there, and the cultists doing the demonizing of us critics never were...in many
cases they never even met Maharishi), so they concentrate on trying to make up
shit about us to get people to ignore what we say.
One of the reasons I'm having fun posting all of this latest Scientology stuff
to FFL is because I think it may wake up a few people who have been falling for
these cult tactics being run on them by TB TMers here on FFL. When they see
over-the-top versions of these kinds of tactics as performed by Scientologists,
a part of them might actually realize, "Oh shit...this is *exactly* what people
like Judy Stein, Jim Flanegin, Ann, Steve, Richard, and many others have been
doing to TM critics here on FFL. Barry is...uh...gulp...RIGHT that they've been
acting like cultists, and that their tactics are straight out of the Cult
Playbook."

Funnily enough, I told the same thing to a TM teacher a long time ago. That the
movement won't be able to lie to people and control information so easily when
we can all talk to each other across oceans and compare notes and stories. He
looked scared that their usual method of getting the herd to think one thing
could be undermined so easily. Wondering what happened to the pundits for
instance? Instead of asking the local centre and getting a centrally approved
pile of BS I just ask the residents of FF and get the truth (perhaps) or at
least enough to know that I've been spun a line over here.
And then there's keeping the weird shit hidden from the meeja and the celebrity
backers. Look at the new TM website, not a crown, yogic "flyer" or mention of
