It was a great episode, though, wasn't it?
After having watched one great series end on a high note ("Breaking Bad") and
another series that had started admirably piss it all away in the last few
seasons and end badly ("Dexter"), I admit to some curiosity as to which of two
great series building up to a season climax in the next few weeks are going to
do better with this scenario.
On the one hand, I'm rootin' for "Justified," because there have simply been no
missteps so far -- in six whole seasons -- and I'd like to see the series end
without any. On the other hand, I'm rootin' for "Better Call Saul," because
they've similarly created a new series -- 9 episodes so far -- without a single
misstep and without a single weak moment. I wish them both luck with their
final episodes, and I will damned sure be watching. Some may consider it
macabre, but I consider the choice of the Pachelbel Canon for that "Justified"
scene to be a kind of twisted genius...
