You can clone your body, before or after you die. The new body may be
identical to yourself, but the soul within is no longer you.

The end of the article is a case in point. The 'immortality gene': when human
cells become immortal, it is called 'cancer'. Cell in living multicellular
organisms age and die and are replaced up to a point, cell death is programmed;
cells are kept alive by signals from other cells, when the signals are
withheld, the cell dies.

Your fingers are sculpted by cell death, in the embryo your hand forms as a
solid mass of flesh and the preprogrammed cell death wipes out the cells
between the fingers, giving you — fingers. The cells in the oldest trees
(bistlecone pine) are only about 40 years old, even though the dead mass at the
centre of the tree has lasted for 4,500 years.

Ever wonder how long your teeth will last if you live to even 200? Biological
evolution results in multicellular organisms that live long enough to
reproduce, what happens to the body after that point is a crap shoot because
there are no natural selection processes for longevity after that point,
although we have seen with medical science our own intelligence can intervene
up to a point.

Physical parts wear out, just like in an auto-mobile, so cells need to be
replaced. The copying process to produce a new cell is subject to error, is
subject to entropy.

The best way for a billionaire to die is to drown in a large vat of camel
mucus. After the last breath, all the wrinkles in the skin are filled in.

About as foolish as people who think they can buy health, wealth, long life

They think that they can live forever. I suppose they want to keep their money
too. How foolish can they be?
