Thanks, Charlie was always one of my favorite personalities in the TM movement.
He was so *far out there* and at the same time so down to earth. I heard a
story about the last time he saw M. He had been waiting a long time to speak to
M and was told it would be another couple of hours. Charlie became outraged and
yelled back, and I'm paraphrasing, Hell! I wouldn't wait two hours to meet
Jesus Christ! Then he stormed out. I heard that is when he was *banned*from
seeing M again. LOL!

served as the Transcendental Meditationinstructor for celebrities who preferred
to keep their meditationpractice confidential.
HelenLutes wasborn with a high level of spiritual development. She was a
childprodigy with an exceptionally keen understanding of human nature. Shebegan
the practice of the Transcendental Meditation technique withher husband,
Charlie, in 1959. Since then Helen volunteered her timeto help Maharishi Mahesh
Yogi with his Transcendental MeditationMovement. She was an excellent
administrator, organizing courses andmanaging finances. Helen also worked on
special projects forMaharishi. It was through her efforts, working with her
husband, thatthe foundation was established for the rapid expansion of
theTranscendental Meditation program throughout the world.

archival things someone just passed to me a recently a published copy of a
limited edition of 108 CharlieLutes discourses.
Charlie Lutes' was a side of the TM movement I was not broughtup in and I am
finding his discourses now quite spiritually relevant.It seems his is where
some lot of the movement went on to anyway insubtle practice. Certainly is the
case in the meditating communityof Fairfield, Iowa now.
