Don't know what they have planned, but a sustainable golf course is possible.
There's desert courses with no grass and only sand and pebbles, for instance.
Just have the land smoothed and let the weeds grow and never water except for
rain -- mowed weeds are pretty good golf surfaces.

A sustainable golf course. What a concept. While there are some that claim to
be including here in South Carolina, they can only be held to be eco friendly
or sustainable in comparison to regular golf courses.

Golf courses are notorious water hogs, some use hundreds of thousands of
gallons a day for irrigation alone. How do you think the greens stay so green?
And the levels of artificial fertilizers, pesticides and herbicides used are
unbelievable. But they have to use them to make the greens green and keep the
insects away from the golfers.

So that term sustainable golf course is a relative thing.

..We are planning the development of an enlightened senior living community in
Maharishi Vedic City with integrated medical care and organic food. This
project is not to be located on the Pandit campus but in a several hundred acre
site near to the MVC Peace Palace. Eventually, we hope to provide all options
for senior living at the newly constructed site including independent living
housing, assisted living residences and enhanced care residences. We also
anticipate that we will have land available for the development of single
family residences, family/guest housing and/or duplexes. An organic farm to
grow our food is also being planned in conjunction with the creation of our
in-house farm to table dining service. A sustainable Tom Doak designed golf
course is also part of the vision. A Village Center is planned for all persons
living in the community.
