I give people a lot of leeway in what they choose to believe, without me having to judge them as one thing or another.
It seems to me that Doug has found a "seam" of gold amidst the coal that he chooses to mine, so to speak. How, or what, people are able to reconcile is their business. And against all odds, I find him the moderator of the group, and you take away the extremes on both ends of the spectrum (as has happened) and I'm pleased with the results. I hope the moderating will continue along the lines it has been going. At the risk of you accusing me of pandering, I find it difficult to watch John Hagelin discuss anything. Actually, I am okay with some of his theories, (I don't pay much attention to them), but rather it is the presentation that makes me cringe. Cognitive dissonance is real and affects groups that have a strong "world saving" focus, when it all goes wrong and turns out to be nonsense they just carry on like everything is fine.
