Er, well, Madison Avenue would be a bit chagrined to hear that! That's the whole idea behind the basic marketing principle of "creating demand"--make people think they need something whether they do or not. In the case of "selling" a spiritual path, if one believes everyone is in need of becoming unbound, then by definition "buying" the path would be on the basis of recognizing the need. But if you don't believe *anybody* is in need of a path, as this chap seems not to, then it makes perfect sense to assume, as he does, that it's a "created" need. The problem with that view is that it doesn't account for people who recognize the need on their own hook before anybody ever tries to "sell" them on it. ------------------------ Yahoo!
