When a Catholic priest at the Vatican announced that he is gay last week, I thought he was a fool, considering that he was wearing the black clothes worn by Christian renunciates and that he'd gone through much training and education to be in his position. But today I just realized that his announcement was an act of defiance of the Church teachings. Thus, the opening of the Synod began with a loud bang.
