These thankas were painted by master artists in Tibet (not in exile) and are some of the highest quality thankas that we have ever been able to offer. These thankas were collected over a two-year period by a friend who was teaching English to Tibetan children. The friend has now decided to become a monk and is selling his collection before entering the monastery. By purchasing a thanka, you will be obtaining a beautiful piece of art, as well as assisting a Buddhist monk. A portion of the proceeds will also go toward sponsoring a pilgrimage to the Himalayas. These thankas are truly wonderful paintings, combining vibrant color and exceptional detail. The thankas are large (averaging 30' tall) and are painted on canvas, suitable for framing. There are several outstanding thankas of female deities, such as White Tara, Green Tara and Machig Labdron, one of the most beloved enlightened women of Tibet. The thanka of Vajrayogini in her Palace is the only one of this kind that we have seen. The thankas of Padmasambhava and Shakyamuni Buddha are quite special. In addition, there are two spectacular Tantric thankas of Chakrasamvara with consort.
