When I refer to single moms in this case, I'm referring to the mother that
never made the commitment to marry the child's father or decided to have a
child without the father's commitment in marriage and probably won't identify
the father. Under these circumstances it was probably intentional to scam the
government to pay to raise their child. I say *probably* because most educated
women with means to support themselves know better for themselves and the
child. Nobody wants to see the child neglected and some take advantage of that.
It's unfair to society and unfair to the child. It perpetuates poverty,crime
and the cycle of poverty.Does shit happen? Of course it does. Parents die
unexpectedly, divorce or just run off, leaving one , usually the mom, to raise
the child or children. That's why I think dads that refuse to meet their child
support obligations should have their SS and Medicare benefits docked and
reassigned to their children. If the mother didn't marry the father or refuses
to name the father, she is as much responsible as he is and if government funds
are needed to support the child, they should be docked from the mother's future
SS and medicare benefits. In other words, no free rides. You play, you pay. Be
responsible for your actions.
