Congregationalist Preacher, Abolitionist, and Social Reformer, (1813 - 1887). Advocated a type of religion emphasizing the Love for God. Also supported the sending of rifles into the contested Kansas area, called "Beecher's Bibles". . Mourned by many people when he died.
