Doug,
It should be interesting what kind of phenomenon these students will attempt to prove. Specifically, there was a rishi in the Srimad Bhagavatam who was able to create a flying mansion studded with precious stones for he and his wife to live in. How can the potential candidate prove this in the physiology? IMO, the Vedic stories are the allegories for a specific jyotish techniques the ancient rishis wanted to convey. The concept of the 64th navamsa can be traced to a story of Krishna and his brother in the S. Bhagavatam. There are many others that can be gleaned from reading these Vedic stories. ---In FairfieldLife@yahoogroups.com, <dhamiltony2k5@...> wrote : Today In Fairfield there will be a meeting for a PhD candidate in the school of Vedic Studies at MUM to defend a thesis.
