Thx, of course - the notion that MMY invented the ME is absurd. Ashwamedha Yagyas have been known to occur since prehistoric times. They have been used to extablish rulership of a certain geographical area, and more importantly as an overall generator of Shakti that could even challenge the Power of the Heavenly ruler Indra. Also, they (and other types of Yagyas), have been used for millennia to counteract the influences of bad karma and evil influences (example: Rama's use of the Ashwamedha Yagya as described in the Ramayana). So, it's not surprising that the Ashwamedha Yagya (the horse sacrifice) is mentioned in the Ramayana, and any specious attempt to appropriate the Shakti Effects of such Yagyas by saying MMY invented such "effects" could be considered a sin against the Veda.
