To the qualified electors of the City of Fairfield, Jefferson County, IA: Pursuant to Section 362.3, 2015 Code of Iowa, notice is hereby given that an election for LOSST Public Measure A, Mayor for a two-year term, one Council member each from 2nd Ward, 4th Ward and Council Member At- Large, each for a four year term will be held on Tuesday, November 7, 2017 from 7:00 A.M. until 8:00 P.M. at which time all qualified electors of the City of Fairfield may cast votes. The polling places for Fairfield are as follows: First Ward: High School Gym Lobby – 605 E. Broadway Ave. Second Ward: Lincoln Elementary School – 4th Street & Stone Ave. Third Ward: Nazarene Family Center – 6th Street & Briggs Ave. Fourth Ward: Courthouse Lobby – 51 East Briggs Ave. Fifth Ward: Pence Elementary School - 1000 South 6th Street These sites are accessible to elderly voters and voters with disabilities. Any voter who is physically unable to enter a polling place has the right to vote in the voter’s vehicle. Any voter may declare upon oath that the voter is blind, has an inability to read or write, or is, by any reason of physical disability other than intoxication, unable to cast a vote without assistance. The voter may request assistance from a precinct election official or anyone in the polling place except the voter’s employer, employer’s agent, or an officer or agent of the voter’s union. In accordance with the provisions of Section 52.35 of the Iowa Code, the Jefferson County Auditor/Commissioner of Elections will conduct a public test of electronic voting equipment for this election. The public test will take place at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 24th at the Jefferson County Courthouse. Machine counted paper ballots will be used in this election. Scott D.
