 There is nothing wrong with reducing the world population to take care of 
mother Earth and the rest of humanity.  But there could be unforeseen 
circumstances, such as plagues and nuclear war that can drastically reduce the 
world's population.  For the time being, plans to continue the world economy 
and culture would have to go forward in the best we can way we can considering 
the available tools in science and technology.  It appears to me that the great 
potential exists in colonizing Mars through the development of AI.
