However I do buy food and clothing for them  occasionally and give cash to charitable organizations that help the needy such as supplying shelter to the homeless. It's really great to see the _expression_ on the face of pan handlers when you hand them a bag with a fish sandwich and fries instead of a couple of bucks or hand them a new T shirt or new pair of jeans or new socks. Many look really confused when you hand it to them but the next time you see them they are wearing what you gave them.
