Yeah, that sh*t really gets in the way, or it did for me anyway. One 
of the things I recall when I learned TM was that I was told it was 
compatible with any lifestyle, which I have then proceeded to 
exploit completely. 

I remember many instances where I have done stuff purely because I 
wanted to, even though it went against some guideline about gaining 
enlightenment. What I found was that overcoming the aversion 
actually increased my freedom, inner and outer, rather than 
constraining it.
