Last night CNN news featured an amazing set of coincidences. The two
persons - Penny and Kevin (their real first names) told what
happened. 7 years ago Kevin, now about 20, was practicing hitting
baseballs in a batting cage, and was struck in the chest by a ball.
He became unconscious and may have died; but just then a passerby
(Penny, a nurse) saw Kevin laying on the ground. She resusitated him
by using CPR.
7 years later, just recently, Penny was eating in a restaurant
when some food got stuck in her throat. She couldn't breathe and
started turning blue. The restaurant manager called Kevin from in
the kitchen (he was apparently a cook); and knowing Kevin was a
volunteer fireman with training, he was called upon to help the
woman. He applied the Heimlich manouever and she caughed up the food
blocking her breathing.
What an amazing coincidence.! Penny saves Kevin, who in turn
saves the life of Penny.
