Yup. Pure myth. I was in college on the East coast,
and I remember everybody crowding into a lobby of
one of the girls' dorms to watch it, because they
had the biggest TV. When we came out, we found that
someone had stolen most of the many bicycles that
had been left outside by the students.

The things people make up...
Actually there could be something to it. Many cities that have winning sports teams find that crime during game time drops dramatically. Seems the criminals like sports as well and take a break or people wait to report crimes until after the game is over or the police wait to take the report when the game is over. It could be that when the Beatles were on Ed Sullivan that fewer crimes were reported immediately while people watched the show regardless of the time zones they were in. I still like the story told to Maharishi though, it's sweet, maybe BS but still sweet.
