It is also not available to people outside the US. The
ABC site detects where you are 'calling' from and blocks
the broadcasts if you're not in the US.
Besides, since I'm watching 'Lost' for FUN, man, part
of the fun is being able to pause things and check the
detail, like the Dharma Initiative logo on the tail of
the shark, or the fact that Kate eats an 'Apollo'
brand candy bar or the name of the novel that Sawyer
is reading (which has been released in print by the
way, as "Bad Twin"), or which actor actually gets to
play his character's twin/double in the last episode.
All these little details are not as easy to catch
if you're watching a stream (even if it were available
to me).

The versions I find on the Net are rarely HD, but there
is enough detail there for me to enjoy the Lost game. :-)
If you've seen the whole series and are into the fun
of it (in other words, you aren't worrying about
potential spoilers), to see just how fanatical some
people get about the whole thing, check out:

For me it's just fun, and a tutorial in how to write
screenplays/teleplays that manage to convey non-
mainstream subjects to a large audience. I consider
it and badly-written trash like the Da Vinci Code
to be worthy of study, because they manage to 'sneak'
some interesting ideas past the mental barriers of
large numbers of people who would otherwise not be
open to them. For a writer, there are things to be
learned from those who have managed to do that,
even from (gulp...please don't take away my Writer's
Union card for saying this) Dan Brown. Suffice it
to say that the writers of Lost are *considerably*
better than Dan Brown, and have managed to reach a
phenomenally large audience with their stuff.
