The National Academy of Sciences, after reconstructing global average
surface temperatures for the past two millennia, said Thursday the
data are "additional supporting evidence ... that human activities are
responsible for much of the recent warming."

Background:
The National Academies perform an unparalleled public service by
bringing together committees of experts in all areas of scientific and
technological endeavor. These experts serve pro bono to address
critical national issues and give advice to the federal government and
the public.

to do studies for or testify or present work at the Academy. They get
the best and the brightest.

So the National Academy of Sciences, finds "additional supporting
evidence ... that human activities are responsible for much of the
recent warming."

I wonder what the "National Academy of Scientists Primarily Funded by
Energy Related Companies" (um, about 1/10,000 the representation as
the NAS, and no prestige or credibility) have to say on the matter.
And whom to believe???
