Yes, that's a big question, typically unexamined by those who like to label liberals "socialists," as if the only two choices were unbridled capitalism and Marxian socialism. But it's a lot easier to decide which side you're on if you can make yourself believe there are only two with nothing in between. Otherwise you might actually have to *think* about what's involved.
