Problem is too many people got fat around the middle while practicing 
TM.  In ayurveda it is frequently recognized as a sign of a digestive 
problem perhaps even digestive timing.  Keep in mind that adjusting the 
doshas may either speed up or slow down digestion.  Also meditation (not 
just TM) may help the digestive tract relax and let food pass through.  
This also why Indians often chew fennel seeds after a meal.  They should 
test the mantras related to the doshas and they'll get even better 
results according to what imbalance exists.
